Sometimes a conversation about getting through discomforts associated with the words people use to identify themselves, cultures essentialising their identity as a developmental stage in a process of achieving pride and empowerment, and the role of the culturally privileged in making room for people who are marginalised by dominant members of their own marginalised culture, just feels more immediately important than prep for the coronary artery disease unit.
